Let's Talk about the special legislative session and ethics in the Roundhouse
On the next Let’s Talk New Mexico we’ll dig into the junior appropriations bill, how to fix it for the sake of transparency, and the ethical considerations when it comes to spending the peoples’ money. We’ll also talk over culture in the legislature and the multiple allegations of untoward behavior by lawmakers like thwarting opponents' in elections (within the rules) and sexual harassment allegations.

Musical Black History
Sat. 2/26 9a: This time on The Children's Hour we explore black history through music. We've put together a special playlist of songs to educate about a few of the people who made significant contributions to technology, culture, and the quest for justice and equality.Sing-along with us while we hear about black people in STEM, film, music, and more. We'll learn about Harriet Tubman, what was meant in her message to "follow the drinking gourd." We honor Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., heroes of the American Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 60’s.The Children's Bookshelf has a book review for us on the autobiographical story, Ruby Bridges, This is Your Time.Get ready to dance and learn with us on The Children's Hour's Musical Black History special.
The New Vision for Black Women
Saturday 2/19 12pm: Join us on Women's Focus as a part of our Black History Month Salute to Black Women. Joi Chaney, Executive Director and Senior Policy Analyst for the National Urban League in Washington, D.C. will join hosts Pamelya Herndon and Susan Loubet in a discussion about the New Vision for Black Women in 2022. Marsha Hardeman, a local social justice advocate will also join us on the program to talk about the New Vision from a local perspective.

The Crew interview behavioral psychologists Dr. Rebecca Ezechukwu and Dr. Danielle Riddle-Price about what racism is, and how to be anti-racist.Then we hear from storyteller Len Cabral with a tale that tells the best way to say something.We mix in some poetry, and excellent new music music celebrating Black History Month.

A new show at SciArt Santa Fe opens April 16 exploring the idea of monuments and the contemporary interpretation of Southwestern cultural landscapes. And a new devised play premiering at the UNM Department of Theater & Dance blends a play by Eugene Ionesco with ideas in ancient spiritual texts.
